The material in this module examines several unrelated issues that a financial planner may encounter. It examines planning for incapacity (managing property and providing for personal and medical needs), planning for variations in traditional family arrangements (divorce, blended families, adoption, and foreign spouses), planning for nontraditional family arrangements (same-sex married couples, and same- and opposite-sex cohabitation), and selecting fiduciaries (personal representatives, trustees, and guardians).
